Pre-COP 26: Harnessing the power of Youth for enhanced climate action in the lead-up to COP 26

The Pre-Cop event "Harnessing the power of youth for enhanced climate action in the lead up to COP 26" is a joint collaboration between the World Food Forum and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. The format will gather youth groups, influencers, companies, academic institutions, non-profits, governments, and the public to drive awareness, foster engagement, and advocate for agri-food systems transformation to reach climate change resilience through intergenerational collaboration and youth-led action. The interactive format of this event will boost climate action through audience engagement and the presentation and promotion of proposals/pilot projects and success stories.

Building on the momentum of the World Food Forum (WFF) – a youth-led movement and network to transform our food systems to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the roundtable will provide a platform for youth-led solutions to some of today’s most urgent global challenges and will present proposed actions related to climate and food systems.

Covering a wide ethnic, age, and regional representation in the list of speakers from civil society, private sector, research and policymaker background, the discussion will be between youth and senior leaders who found transformative solutions for the transition to food systems’ climate resilience.

The speakers propose solutions for groups in different situations of vulnerability – including Indigenous Peoples, women, youth, persons with disabilities.
