Focal Points Group
Meet the Youth Action Track Focal Points Group
The World Food Forum is excited to announce the launch of the Youth Action Track Focal Points Group (FPG), with 12 youth leaders from across the globe, establishing the first cohort for 2022-2023.
In April 2022, an open call for the FPG was launched by the youth mechanism of the Youth Action track. The aim of this group is to draft youth policy positions* on food and agriculture topics, providing strategic direction for upcoming key events and the Youth Action Assembly during the WFF flagship event in October 2022. The group will work closely with the Youth Action track to support capacity building for actionable solutions and education on policy topics to further empower youth to engage in policy.
The call saw 60 applications from young people across the globe, and the WFF extends its gratitude to the 10 Selection Committee members, with a special mention to the Young Professionals for Agricultural Development (YPARD) and the Major Group for Children and Youth (MGCY) who have led this process.
*Disclaimer: The draft texts and statements of the FPG are not associated to FAO or partners of the WFF. The FPG acts as an independent body comprised of young people from different backgrounds and geographies.
