Youth against food waste – Catalyzing change through interactive workshops
In a dynamic stride to foster a world with minimal food waste, the WFF's Youth Toward Zero Food Waste campaign recently held a series of engaging and interactive workshops, targeting youths from all across the world. Organized between September and early October, these workshops delved into the core issues of food waste and food insecurity, presenting creative solutions to collectively combat these pressing challenges.
The workshops were conducted in English, Spanish and French, to ensure we would reach and inspire a broader audience to join us in this journey towards zero food waste. With an overwhelming response, nearly 800 individuals actively participated, creating a vibrant exchange of ideas and perspectives throughout.

Distinguished experts and thought leaders - including Divine Nije, Deputy Director of the Food Systems and Food Safety Division at FAO; Rosa Rolle, Senior Enterprise Development Officer at FAO; Lorenzo Gentile, Head of Operations at the WFF; Maximo Torero, FAO's Chief Economist; and Ismahane Elouafi, FAO's Chief Scientist – contributed immensely, infusing the sessions with their invaluable insights and expertise.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the speakers and moderators who brought these workshops to life, including young changemakers and experts from the private sector, the public sector and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. Through interactive exchanges, we delved into innovative solutions and brainstormed creative ways to combat food waste.
